Touchapd Quit Working

My Acer Aspire's touchpad quit working. A Windows Update was in progress when the battery died. Since then, the touchpad quit working.

I did uninstall and re installed the driver but did not work. Any ideas?
 
Do you have the model number? Have you installed the original driver and software from acer's site? Many times the software can become corrupt as well i would reinstall that as well as any remaining windows updates. Also for future note its always good practice to have the laptop plugged in when doing any updates as just this can happen when the battery dies.
 
codeman thanks for the reply. I know I should have plugged the AC adapter but I was too sleepy that night. What I did was, I finished the update and re installed the driver. My suspect was corrupted files. You are right.


It is an Acer 5734z .
 
I already did that but I did not work. I needed to reformat the notebook and re installed the drivers. It is now back working. Thanks.
