Touchpad and usb not working

This is my old laptop thats been left in my bedroom for a long time

Knocked it on today, found that the touch pad do not work and none of the usb ports work either, put a fresh install of XP on there but still the same

Any advice out there,

To be honest i needs step by step if possible ad im no good with any laptops or pcs

Please note i got no use to a mouse what so ever so think bout u replys lol EG right click here an so on

If the usb ports are dead then you might as well throw in the towel. It's an old machine and not worth it. Most likely a bad motherboard. You usually can't disable the usb ports in the bios, the trackpad possibly.
