Tower Clearance

I just ordered a CM690 Tower, in which is going to go my new phonem II 955 build with a CoolMaster V8 HSF.

Now my current computer desk will only just fit this tower in, with 1.1cm clearance either side of the tower. Is this enough clearance not to hinder airflow/cooling?

My CM Stacker 810 can hold my V8 fine, if that helps.

I know the CM690 can hold the Coolmaster V8. Im asking if having your case in a narrow part of your computer desk (in my case with 1.1cm either side to the wood) reduces your airflow/cooling much?

so is ur computer in a hutch or something?
1 cm is not enough from fans and either hutches are bad for cooling in every way
even if you had more space you computer is forced to recirculate the same hot air so it doesnt work well

yeah, if you do this, try to put more fans on the front and back, not the sides, because the side fans with circulate in hot air.

Im planning on getting two top mounted fans, and the CM690 comes with a front and back fan and I think a side fan.

Yes back is exposed.

And I looked last night, theres like a decent 6cm clearance on the top so my top fans that I ordered yesterday should have plent of draw.

The fans on the top should be blowing air out of the case..
