Tower lights Come On But Nothing

Iknow there was a post like this one before, but I can not find it anywhere. This is my problem. I plugged everything it, made sure everything was put in the right spot, went to turn it on, I get a beep, the green light on the front turns on, and the red one flashes, then it just shuts down. Any conclusions?
 
That or it could be your power supply. I would think that it is that, becuase that's what happened to me, everything almost starts up then dies, if that's it I'd say its the powersupply
 
This is what I have in my computer right of now,

550w Power Supply
Asus P5LD2 Deluxe Motherboard
Radeon X800 XL video card
1gb 667 ddr2 ram

and now I got it going so that it turns on for about 3-10 seconds sounds and looks like its going to run. But the monitor doesnt come on and then it just shuts down.
 
Maybe it's not the power supply, when it happened to me it would only last about a second, did you make your computer? If you did you put thermal paste on the CPU my friend didn't put any on once, and thats about how long it would last until it finally over heated and died.
 
reseat the videocard and reseat the RAM and any other PCI periphials, then try to reseat the CPU and cooler, make sure all power connectors are connected securly, then try it
