I have two XP laptops with 1394 and USB on them. i want to trasfer data from one laptop to another.Can I use USB A to USB A type connection to trasfer data? Is there any other easier way. Thanks

there are several ways. at your local computer retailers they sell migration softwares that come with usb cables. or if you have a crossover ethernet cable, you can connect the two laptops together. do you have any kind of network setup? the easiest would be to put all your stuff in one folder and send it right over.

Is cross over ethernet cable different from normal ethernet cables? And can I just buy USB cable with A type connection on both sides and use it? Will one of the computers detect the other? Thanks in advance.......

What about a portable HD put it on the prtable HD hook it up to your other computer and click and drag.
