Tracing a deleted file

Hi all,

Windows 7 64 bit.

Is there any way of tracing when a file(s) have been deleted (date/time)?

I have recovered the files but, if it's possible, would like to be able to say when they were deleted.

Right click properties, modified/created/etc only gives one date and that is the probable date that they were downloaded, definitely way before the date they were deleted.

I think most of the free programs for recovering files offers such option you are talking about. I'm not sure tho. Try to use Recuva it might have date and time when the specified file or folder was removed.

Few years ago I have made a small program which was tracing the file system and each time when ANY file on the entire computer would be deleted,it would save TIME (01:00:00),DATE (01.01.0001.) and the file name in simple RTF log file.

Don't know if I have that program anymore.I will have to take a look...
