"track 0 bad" on pro duo

I've got a 1gb pro duo and when I try to format it, I get a "track 0 bad..." message, is there a way to fix this problem? Please help me out. later then.

Did you just get this card? Sounds like some capacitor went bad or something that won't allow you to access the card...

well, it's my bros card, he was moving files around on it and suddenly, the computer froze. then he gave the pc a hard shutdown(held down the on button for a couple of seconds). When the pc booted up, there was an error on it. Please, if anyone can help, do not hesitate to post.
