How can i transfer my windows xp pro, and all my settings from my old 20 gb ide drive, to my new raptor 150 sata without having to reinstall or anything?

I use GHOST. It's perfectly legal to move your OS from one disk to another as long as you're not using the same key code on more than one computer. However, you might just be better off using your install disk, if you have it, simply to avoid the BSODs which sometimes happen when you move a disk image to a totally different type of HDD and try to boot up xtra putrid the first time.

If you look on Western Digital's site, there should be some application there to transfer one hard drive to another. Assuming your hardware hasn't changed beyond the hard drive, and assuming you had SATA drivers installed on the previous windows installation, you should be alright. However, if this is a new build, you probably will get BSOD's as you try to boot.

well i tried to install xp on it, it copies all the files to setup xp, then when it tries to finish the installation it says "error loading operating system" and it just stays there... what could this be?
