Transfering Files HDD to HDD?

Here's the deal, I'm planning on building the PC in my sig sometime in either February or March and I've decided I want to buy a new HDD for 2 reasons.

1. I want a fresh install of my important programs, pictures, music, and Microsoft XP Pro because after 5 years of building up different annoying quirks I want to start fresh. (example: flash player 9 WILL NOT no matter how hard I try, install on my PC)

2. I still have 40GB left on my current drive (80GB HDD) but I want more space.

So I want to know how I would go about transfering:

1. Windows XP Pro + Word, Publisher, etc.

2. Stuff like Photoshop, games, etc.

3. Pics and Music.

I DO NOT want to copy the entire drive over to my new one, just select things that I listed.

Note: I currently have IDE HDD but will be getting SATA.

Thanks In Advance

1.) Install the SATA in the new PC
2.) Install Windows on the SATA
3.) Install your programs games etc.
4.) Install the old HDD in the new PC
5.) Drag'n'Drop your files (pics, Mp3, savegames etc) from old drive to new

1. To use windows(assuming you mean your previous copy) you will have to call Microsoft and see if they will allow you to reactivate your copy using another computer. Otherwise you'll have to purchase another key. All other software will have to be reloaded as well. I know software like Office also has a limited number of activations.

2. Just like above. Games should be fine, just reinstall them.

3. This stuff should just drag right over. The only problem is if you have some music or video that has a certificate that just works on the computer it was downloaded to(some WMA's and such)

I'd say just get the computer going using XP, then remove the CD-ROM and replace it with the old drive. There will be no interference with the SATA drive, and you won't need to bother with jumpers without the CD-ROM in place. If you need the CD-ROM for some reason(burner or whatever...) just set your hard drive to the opposite setting(CD = Master, HD = Slave...)

So what I'm going to do is

1. Install XP on SATA HDD

2. Install IDE HDD in new comp

3. Find Office CD to put on SATA

4. Transfer pics, music, games, etc. drag and drop method to SATA

5. Done?

Umm, I was looking at the price of Office Pro (which I currently have) and there's no way I'm gonna pay $360 for that. Is there some way I can get Office on the other drive?

Edit: Also, I have a XP Pro disc, but would that come wih SP2? It doesn't say if it does or not. And if it doesn't how would I get it on the new drive?
