I can do it with the computer. My question is can i transfer the pictures from the phone to a usb micro drive? I didn't want to try without asking first. Just wondering if i can use the phone, usb cable and micro drive or is there a way to do it without computer.

I don't think so, the phone would have to recognize the Drive. I know my S2 can't. You'd need a go-between to do it (Phone to PC to Drive). You could auto upload to Google+ or use Google Drive if you're concerned about backing pictures up.

I do not think you would do any damage by trying it, i doubt it would work but you never know it may see the drive just like micro sd.

If not you will have to bluetooth or use pc, also you could use online file storage and backup like google drive, dropbox etc.

I also don't think it would work but you can try to put the pictures over your pc first and the transfer to your micro drive. That surely will work. :)

The best way to get pictures off your phone is to create a Dropbox account and then have Dropbox upload all your photos to your Dropbox folder (via the dropbox app on your phone). You can have it upload via Wifi only (saves on data use) or via data plan & wifi. Then just plug your drive into your computer and put your pictures on it.

A Developer needs to find a way to incorporate that into a future build. I'm surprised CM hasn't figured that out yet.
