Transfering TIFF image to CDR

Hello! I'm having a problem here. I read the FAQ at the top of the forum so I have a better idea of what's going on, but my problem is: I need to transfer graphic images edited by Adobe Photoshop to CDR unde the TIFF image.

Right now I have the "Record now!" program and it only allows saving GI and ISO images. What is the software/program that I need to get to enable me to do this. Thanks in advance, help is surley appreciated.

I'm using CD-RW, my computer is a compaq 7550, and I'm using windows (XP, I believe)

A TIFF image should be like any other data and should burn to a CD without any problem. It sounds like you might be doing something wrong in the software or something.

There's a free burning program called Deep Burner. It's great for data and audio disks. Heck, it usually makes better quality disks than some of the more common software... Why not give it a shot?

I downloaded Deep Burner but it's a similiar problem.

This is what I get: WRITER ERROR [UNIT ATTENTION POWER ON RESET OR BUS DEVICE OCCUR

Do you have any idea where this error is coming from or the Bus Device?

In response to your original post:

No offense, but you're not looking in the right place in Record Now. In Record Now the image it referes to when it say Burn Image is a CD image.

You need to find a place to record a data cd and drag the files to that. That's the function you're looking for.

The CD image is basically a virtual cd. it's a file created by a program that basically creates a CD as a file on the computer.

How do I find a place to record at data CD? Where is this function? Do I need a certain software for it?

Record Now has it, but I have the software at home and I'm at work now. Just look, it should say Data CD or Back up. What version do you have?

I have version 6.7.0

I've been on this for three days now, it's very frustrating. I've also downloaded deepburner and Expressburn, neither of them work.

I'd like to learn about making the data CD so I can drag the items I wish to print on CD.

I downloaded Deepburner to help with that one. When you start the program choose 'Create data CD/DVD'. Another box should popup and you will choose No Multisession.

With multisession you may not beable to access the disc from another computer. AFter you select next, a window will be open with the project name in the corner ex: Data CD #1. You can drag and drop in this window all the files you want. Then select the Burn Disk on the left.

Okay, this is something I haven't tried yet, but when I get to the window after clicking No Multisession there isn't a project name in the corner, only CDRoot. What corner should Project Name/"Data CD # 1" be in? Thanks for your help!

The very corner of the entire window, but if you see CDRoot you have the right window. just drag and drop and you're good.

Thanks! But I just found out earlier today that my burner is damaged and I'm getting a new one put in on Monday. The person who I went to said he will install the new burner and be sure it works before I take it(the tower) home. It's $75 for the new burner and $24 for him to put it in and make sure it works. Does that sound like a good deal to you? Let me know because I'm curious what you think of those prices. Thanks!

Nooooo! You can buy a freakin fully featured DVD burner for under $40. Much less a CD burner.
Check it out: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827106019 and for just a cd burner or $18 as seen here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827131013.

No offense but you obviously don't know a whole lot about computers and that person is trying to exploit you. Newegg is a great place to get parts and I would recommend you ordering the part from them.

Personally I would recommend the DVD Burner I showed you because then you have more options in the future for your burning capabilities.

A side note: I'm willing to bet if you purchase a drive and ask that person to put it in at the same $24 they will say they can't honor that price because it's not their hardware or some BS. If you have a compUSA near buy they would probably even do it cheaper. It's not hard at all unless you just don't want to worry about learning how to do it.

i got to thinking about this...

Is the person selling you the overly priced device the one that told you that? What did he specifically say was wrong with it; damaged id a pretty generic term. If they're not, what leads you to believe the drive is damaged.

He said that burners can fizzle out in a year. I have a pretty cheap computer (Compaq) I think I paid $750 for it. I've had this computer for about three years now.

The thing is, I wanted him to show me how to save the photos from the PC onto CDR and he said he didn't do that. Let me do a google search and see if I have a CompUSA near me.

Is the DVD burner easy to install??? I think I'm going to get it from Newegg and save alot of money. Is it basically like installing a printer?

No you have to open the computer to install, but It's pretty easy especially if you're REPLACING the drive. In my experiences my drives have lasted a while. If you haven't used it for a lot of burning it should still be good.

The DVD burner I have I've used for about 2.5 years now and it still works great. I'll admit some hardware is better than others, but a year is BS in my book. If you get the part, we'll handle installation later.
