I've got two computers: a really badass regular computer that runs games at perfect speed, and a rather crappy laptop. I'm a real gamer, but I've toned down the gaming habit a bit, though I still want to play.
So I came up with this idea: playing games while on the treadmill, via my laptop and a wireless Xbox controller. I thought it would provide me with a little motivation to get some exercise for once.
It works fine. I'm able to run on the treadmill and play games, except the sucky thing is, the games all run slower than a bitch on my laptop, to the point that I don't even want to play them anymore. If I were to play them on my standard computer, they would run flawlessly. But my computer is in a totally separate room from my treadmill. I can't move the computer into the treadmill room, and I can't move the treadmill into the computer room.
My wireless Xbox controller, however, works so well that it can operate from any room in the house. I could use it to control a game from the next room, except that then I wouldn't be able to see the screen.
So I was wondering: would it be possible for me to somehow transfer the monitor data from my good computer to the monitor of my laptop? That way, the game would be running on my good computer, but it would be transferring its monitor data to my laptop, so that I could see the image on my laptop whilst running on my computer and still control the game with my wireless controller. I only need the monitor image, I don't need the sound, though it would be kind of nice to have both.
I'm not hugely advanced with computers or anything, so I'm wondering, would there be any way for me to do something like this?
Thanks.
