Transferring Programs with Flash Drives

Is it true that you need sandisk's U3 technology or another brand's equivalent to U3 in order to transfer "PROGRAMS" such as photoshop or AutoCADD. I was told by a future shop employee that the basic flash drives will only transfer "FILES".

Please Help.
Thanks.

My question is... If I want a 4 gig flash drive to transfer programs, do I need the more expensive ones with the U3 technology, or can I use any 4 gig flash drive.

That's what flash drives are for besides using as a temp boot device to perform a repair of some type. Programs have to be installed not simply copied from drive to device back to a drive on a different system.

The installation disk or download is run in order to see any program installed usually seeing files unpacked from an archive on disk or extracted from a zip type file when a download. The installer creates the new program folders as well as copying files to them and creating new registry entries.
