Transferring XP from second partition to new hard drive

My current system disk has two partitions, the first containing W2K and the second with XP. I want to transfer the XP system to a new hard drive with a single partition. The boot record is on the W2K partition, so if I clone only the XP partition I assume the new drive won't be bootable. How would I solve that problem?

If there's no easy solution, would this work? Remove my system drive which I'll call drive A, put on a new drive, B and do a fresh install of XP on that. Remove that drive and do a fresh install of XP on a third drive, C. Add back A and B as data drives, and then just copy (not clone) all the files on the XP partition from A to B. Then remove all and install drive B as the system drive. I know to unhide all files.

Thanks very much.

Yeah, just clone it to the place you want it to go. Then, fix the MBR like he said. It is not hard, don't worry.
