OK... I'm hopefully going to get my dream pc once the holidays are over (prices drop:D ) and I was wondering what type of DVD/CD I should get it... only thing is is idk what the difference between them is, and I have never really been able to understand them! DVD-R, DVD+-RW? Translation?

thanks

DVD = read DVD
DVD-R = writable to DVD
DVD-RW = rewritable to DVD
DVD-R DL = writable to dual layer DVD

Most of the new DVD-RW`s are comp with +/-, DVD`s are ether + or - (i think).
If your going to get a dvd-rw make sure its comp with +&- just to be on the safe side.

Dual layered, meaning like those DVD's that have 2 sides with data on them?

No, it means that there are 2 layers of data on one side of the disc.

i would definately suggest a DVD +/- writer, because then you can throw every disk in it you want. (if the writer is dual layer ofcourse.)
when you take a dvd-r writer, and you put a dvd+r in it, you'll have a compartibility error ;), or at least it wont write properly.

check newegg. you can find good full featured DVD burners for pretty cheap now. You can find good burners at around 40-50 usd
