Transplant probems

Hello, today I transplanted my computer into a new case and im having some problems. I am 100% the pwoer to my mobo, floppy drive, dvd/cd drive and hard drive are all correctly put in. But my computer is not powering on which is probably because I put the power button and all the other confusing wires in the case incorrectly.
My mobo is a Abit AA8 DuraMAX and the case is an Aspire XPlorer or somthing like that. Any help would be much appreciated.
 
you mean the pwr switch and reset switch wires? Your motherboard should have came w/ a manual and on the manual it tells you where to plug everything.
 
I know where to plug them into, the computer is just not going on. I got a little green light in the front of the case to go on and the little digital number thing on my mobo is going on so thats getting power. What am I doing wrong?
 
If i knew what a stand off was that would be great, are they those little metal things that raise the mobo off the case a bit that you put the screws into, then yeah.
 
did you plug the cpu fan in? Sometimes a computer won't turn on unless you have that plugged.

Are you positive your psu is working?

Try resetting the cmos by popping the battery out for a bit.
 
Ok, i got it to power on with heatsink spinning, fans spinning, leds on and all that. But when I plug my monitor in i get no display but the monitor senses a computer because the check signal cable indicator thing goes away. Now what else did I do wrong?

MOBO: Abit AA8 DuraMAX
GPU: Radeon X800 Fanless
RAM: 2 Gb OCZ Gold DDR2
CPU: 3.0 ghz Pentium 4 Prescott

Also i tried removing and replacing the gpu with no avail.
 
if u have a pc speaker around, one of the little ones tht attach to the mobo, then u should connect that and then turn the comp on, it should make beeping sounds, write down what order they go in, ie. 1 loong 2 short then get online usin another computer and head over to google n do a lil research.
 
Well I tried to figure some things out today. I figured out the little 2 number screen on my mobo counts up from 8.1 to 9.0 when turnd on and during this its checking all of its components and when it reaches 9.0 it hands everything to the bios. And that process seems to be working well, the graphics card is in tighly and has no seperate power to it. I am just still not getting any display on my monitor. And i thought I had a similar problem before and this could be the same one. While playing games my comp would lock up and shut of. It would turn on and not show a display which is the same thing thats happening now. But before at random times when I tried to turn it on it would go on, weather it would be 5 seconds later or 5 hours later, it just chose when it wanted to show a display, I know its not the monitor, Ive tried three. Anyone know what could be wrong? Also I tried resetting the bios and got no change.
 
So your saying you would turn your computer on, everything would turn on in the computer, but nothing showed up on the screen? Then, you would restart it, and it would work fine? And it only did this every once in a while? If so, I have the exact same problem. You just ignored it, and its working fine?

You seem to have forgotten to list your power supply, this would help us diagnose the problem more accurately.

This kind of random behaviour can be caused by a faulty power supply, possibly due to undervoltage. This can be tested by using a known good ps with the setup, or through the use of a multimeter.

Well there seems to be no change. Thr computer powers on but the monitor stays in sleep mode, tried 3 diffrent monitors with all diffrent cables, another gpu (upgraded ro nvidia 7800 gt), the mobo seems to be fine does its little start up thing on its little 2 character space digital screen without errors. It could be the powersupply, I have an Antec 450 watt (cant get the voltages now because the comp wont turn on). Whats a multimeter? I would praise you if you have the correct answer to my conundrum.

edit: whoops its a 400w Antec Smart Power
