if you could find an application that could use all 8 gpu's(assuming you had 4 4870x2's) i do believe msi makes a motherboard with 4 pci-e 2.0 slots on it

More importantly, you need drivers that allow the use of 8 GPUs.

i know somebody uses 4 9800gx2's to do renderings, i would assume thats cuda?
