Triple Monitor Display - Question

Hello guys, I just signed up to this forum so forgive me if I'm posting on the wrong section.

Well, straight to the point. I have a single Gigabyte Windforce AMD Radeon 7950 3GB currently supporting an Ultra Wide display monitor of a resolution of 2560x1080. Now, this graphic card only has a DVI and HDMI output. I was wondering if I could run three monitors with a single graphic card. The main monitor is connected to the DVI Output. I'm planning on connecting a second 20" monitor to the HDMI Output and a third 20" monitor on the OnBoard HDMI Output. Is this possible by any chance? Will the OnBoard drivers and GPU drivers interfere?

Motherboard: Sabertooth Z77
GPU: Gigabyte Windforce AMD Radeon 7950 3GB
CPU: i7 3770k
RAM: 32 GB

NOTE: I won't be running video games on all three monitors, just on my main. The two small 20" monitors will be running other side programs such as iTunes, TeamSpeak, Internet Browser, etc. On a side note, I don't mind if I get low FPS since I will be buying a second graphic card 7950 in the future but not just yet.

Help me clear this doubt before I make a purchase on both 20" monitor. Will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

You may be able to enable the onboard video and then either use the hdmi or display port adapter to have the third monitor. Not sure though. Or you can get a video card which has a display port and then have access to 3 monitors.

I would contact asus to see if you can get 3 screens by using the onboard video. However, you might only be able to duplicate on of your other screens and not have 3 different things going at once.

edit - just looked at your video card and see that it has 2 minidisplay ports. You can use these to get your 3rd monitor. You would need a min display port to dvi adapter though.

That's great, I didn't even realize it had 2 mini display ports, I had to double check it to make sure. Something like this (LINK) would do, right? Just double checking.

I want to say yes but don't quote me. The description only says for apple products only. Maybe someone else can verify that it will work.

I can't find any proof that the Macbook adapter is an active adapter. I would go with one that is certified my AMD. I know you are not using Eyefinity but I think the gamble to save a few bucks is not worth it

http://support.amd.com/us/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity-dongles.aspx

Look at this adapter

http://www.amazon.com/Accell-B087B-...F8&qid=1375242665&sr=8-2&keywords=ks30008-131

It is an active adapter from Mini DP to Dual Link DVI.

Thanks for helping guys.

That AMD certified adapter looks about right. So let me clear things up. Triple monitors will work if I do as follow:

Main Monitor - Connected from Video Card's DVI-D to Monitor's DVI-D.
Second Monitor - Connected from Video Card's Mini DisplayPort to Monitor's DVI-D. (Using a Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter)
Third Monitor - Connected from Motherboard's HDMI to Monitor's DVI-D. (Using an HDMI to DVI-D cable)

Note: I'll be using an HDMI to DVI-D cable since the second and third monitor don't have HDMI, only VGA and DVI-D.

Or must I connect all three monitors to the video card? The motherboard has a DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort and HDMI. No VGA or DVI output.

Not quite. I am fairly certain that the HDMI and DVI-D ports can be used together in eyefinity, so I think you can do this:

Main Monitor - Connected from Video Card's DVI-D to Monitor's DVI-D.
Second Monitor - Connected from Video Card's Mini DisplayPort to Monitor's DVI-D. (Using a Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter)
Third Monitor - Connected from Video Card's HDMI to Monitor's DVI-D. (Using an HDMI to DVI-D cable)

Or this will also work but it will require another adapter.

Main Monitor - Connected from Video Card's DVI-D to Monitor's DVI-D.
Second Monitor - Connected from Video Card's Mini DisplayPort to Monitor's DVI-D. (Using a Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter)
Third Monitor - Connected from Video Card's Mini DisplayPort to Monitor's DVI-D. (Using a Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter)
