Triple Monitor Setup?

Hey guys, I want to do a triple monitor setup with my desktop pc. I dont really know how to do it and just started researching it. Will this Colorgraphics Xentera GT4 graphics card do the trick with these Acer X203H monitors? Is there anything else that I need for the setup/ need to know about the setup?

p.s. This setup is not for gaming or anything, I just need it for stock trading and research if that makes a difference.

I'm not familiar with the Xentera GT4 - but Eyefinity is new graphics technology allowing you to put 3 HD video outputs on 1 video card. It's in the newest generation ATI 5XXX series video card. The cheapest entry level is the 5670 at $99.00.

Here is a picture of Pcie x 16 slot which would be needed for 5xxx most modern video cards. Follow the Red Arrows to the PCIe slots.

I do not really know much about that card. From what I do understand is that it is a very old card. Also it cannot do anything besides allowing you to use up to 4 monitors. So if you plan on playing any games this thing will not work at all. And to find out if you have a PCI-E slot we need to know what motherboard you have.

Ok, so how do I identify the motherboard. I opened up my tower and theres a bunch of different chips. There one that says SMSC, one that says ICS, and one that says Intel. Is it any of those?

If your tower is oped just look for the slot picture above. if you have at least 1 of those slots you will be good to go. A Graphics card might even be in the slot already.

Do you have a link to the low-end model of the this card? I wont be playing any games on it, so the low-end model will probably do

I have two towers and would prefer to use the Dell, but it really doesn't matter to me

the hd 5670 is the low end card right now. it LOOKS like the second one down (white with a card in it) is a pci-e slot... maybe take a close up picture of the slots close to that one... if you download and install cpu-z (or cpuid) you can find out the model number of your motherboard. hope i could help.
 
What is your Dell model number. from the front of your case. It looks like an older PC though at first glance.

YOu can get the motherboard from their website - or somebody on this site can help you by knowing your Model number.

I see a white PCI slot being used - and the brown configuration I don't recognize. I can't tell if you have a video card already plugged into your pciex8 or pciex16 slot or not.
 
oops, scratch that last comment. i looked at it wrong. it looks like you don't have a pci-e slot. that is just a pci slot.

Model number as in

DHP is not a model number. Your model number should be on the front panel of your PC case somehwere. Mine is right smack in the middle of case front. Also, You have a service tag on your PC < check by the front service panel by your case USB ports. You can plug that into Dell's Support Page and get info on your PC.
 
the picture is too blurry to read any words but i am sure that the top one is agp and the second one is pci. do what jamin43 recommended and post your medol number so we can look up your motherboard.
 
Both those computers use AGP, plus the first computer (Dell) is a slim line case and will not accept a full size graphics card.

Unfortunately, the card the OP chose may be his best option. :o
 
i agree with bodaggit23. i didn't even think about the fact that the card won't even fit in the case. i wonder how good the first mentioned card is?
