so i found out a program file i downloaded ages ago had this virus in it. i ran norton before and it never picked it up. avira caught it. has this file always had this trojan or did someone go in and plant it there (is that possible)?

i haven't run the program on this computer so does that mean my computer wouldn't be affected by the virus or what? i don't understand if i have to run the program in order for the virus to be activated.

can someone access my computer because of this trojan? i don't know much about viruses other than they screw up your computer. on that note i've had this program years on two computers, and used it on the old computer and never once noticed anything virus-like to happen to my computer(s). thank you.

You never know, but if you found the program infected with Trojan, your computer is probably infected, too.
If you want us to help you, you could post a HijackThis log:
Click here to download HJTsetup.exe
  • Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
  • Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
  • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialogue.
  • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
  • Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
  • At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
  • Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

What OS are you using? Interesting, you didn't mention it in your sig, and you've cut off the first part of the log where I can see it. Are you hiding something? I have to know because of some software incompatibilities.

No Trojans found, so this time it's not necesserry to know what your Operating System is :D

Nope, you haven't...the Trojan you mentioned appears to be in your virus vault or deleted. In either way, does not infect your PC.
