trojan.vundo, infostealer, downloader doin my head in!!!

Hi guys, this problem only started a few days ago when downloading a few things, photoshop cs3 trial and a few plugins for cs2 etc. After this all I am getting is norton alerts for the following, trojan.vundo, infostealer, downloader. Norton keeps stating, unable or repair and access denied to file despite getting the latest updates. Sometimes norton will get rid of them then after a restart they just come back. Its really slowing down boot up time (at least 4-5 mins to boot up now!!). I have turned of system restore and run a scan, nothing picked up, restarted again then they pop up again. have reinstalled norton/ updates etc, all same. All sorts of things are happening, msconfig has gone missing! only able to get into it manually through c drive. Also if left for more than 10-15mins then move mouse the whole thing just restarts. any help much appreciated.

Have just done a scan using XoftSpySE and its come up with the following:

Vundo Trojan - File - Severe Risk - C:\\WINDOWS\system32\pmkhi.dll

The software will not delete these items. Have tried to delete the dll file but no luck there. Have looked in the registry and cant find the values. Please Help!!!
 
yeah ive been having silimlar problem with some vundo or summit! not good! comp had been really slow and that :( but its all good now :)
 
Download VundoFix.exe
to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.

After the reboot, post a new Hijackthis log, and the Vundofix report.
 
Cheers Buzz, downloaded Vundofix, picked up 5 trojans, deleted the lot. I initally thought when other people had suggested Vundofix then ment the Symantec one (which in this case picked up nothing). Everything seems to be running ok now, fingers crossed. Any way, thanks again.
