Recently ran a scan with the AVG anti-virus tool and it showed a virus called trojanhorse downloader small 8p. Couldn't "heal" it, so it's sitting in the virus vault. Tried running Adaware and Spybot scans and can't get rid of it. I got Windows XP. Anybody know how to get rid of this thing? I keep getting a popup telling me what file it's in.

Does it give you a specific name of the Virus?
Try searching Symantec's website for that name or for the name of the file it's in, they may have a removal tool for it.

I had that one before, don't even bother fixing viruses just check the file and delete them. BTW. Norton sais its a comon virus.

Yes but what happens if it infects a file you need? Cant just delete stuff

Virus problems

I also have this virus and cant seem to get rid of it. Dont know how I got infected but I know that some virus is giving me a hard time. Could anybody else help?? how do you delete it or do you just have to format the hard drive and reload it??
