trouble at using browsers after a while

Hi there,
I have a huge nuisance with my laptop (Vaio): after roughtly 5 hours it's on I can't use any browser.
I can use skype, a p2p program but either chrome, explorer nor mozilla do work.
I tried browsing the internet for some help but I couldn't find anything!
If this can help, I've a win7, avast (I had AVG earlier), no virus, normal motherboard, audio etc, I'd say I have an average computer.
Thanks in advance!

What happens when you try to open a browser? What do you got to do to be able to browse again?

Hi John, thanks a lot for replying!
In google chrome ( my default browser ) I can only click on the button reload, it's the grey screen if you happen to use it too.
In order to be able to browse again I can'd do anything but rebooting my laptop, unfortunately :(
still no idea, tho, I ran a screen with AVG and nothing dangerous at all is found!

You might be maxxing out your memory usage.
Next time it happens check how much memory is tied up.
I run lots of tabs and this sounds like what happens to me after a good day of surfing.
I just log out and back in instead of a full reboot.

Have you tryed to clean up unused RAM with programs like MemTurbo instead of restarting?

Also run the FULL SCAN with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware...

I had Avast once and it slowed my Internet web page loading down. I use Bitdefender free on the laptop, but I can't use it on my desktop since I have game hackes on there that are false positives since they act like Trojans and inject into the game process and Bitdefender doesn't have a virus chest to replace the file and exclude. So on the desktop I switched to Panda Cloud.
