Trouble printing lightscribe labels

I am having a little trouble printing lightscribe labels. I am using a Samsung lightscribe drive and HP lightscribe media. I have tried both cd's and dvd's. I have tried Nero 8 and I receive the internal error has occurred or something similar. I have also tried a program called Surething CD labeler and I get the same error. Is it possible that the drive is going bad? It will read the cd's and dvd's fine.

IIRC, before when I would go to print a lightscribe label, when I put the cd in upside down, the autoplay box would come up. Now it does not do that. I do not have another drive to test.
 
if its reading writing im not sure. One thought check the device manager and check for an error or exclamation. Try right clicking the drive and update driver software.

On the other hand mine are also lightscribe. not impressed. Would much rather just print labels. work well. Then again i thought why printing disc in color or like the disc that you buy is not available. never seen them. suspect to much money or other hardware would be needed.
