trouble reinstalling windows 7

basically my laptop wouldn't respond to anything i managed to get the restore to work but it hasn't properly the screen etc looks like it does when its in safe mode and there's hardly any programs at all and its not even in safe mode. i have no idea what to do.
any help would be amazing
 
So you restored it to factory settings?

Please download PC Wizard from my signature and install it, run it and go to FILE, SAVE AS and click ok. Copy the text out of that file into this thread.
 
yes i used the samsung recovery disc i got with the laptop and now it just boots up like its in safe mode when it isnt. it says i need to download windows service pack 1 could that be the problem?
 
Are you sure you have installed the correct video driver? If its not installed the screen will look bigger. Look in device manager.
 
it instlled it when i had no internet connection so it didn't install any of the updates. could that be what went wrong?
 
i am trying to install that but as its the very basic windows 7 for some reason it wont pic up the internet connection even with the ethernet cable plugged in. i am trying to download it on my dads computer and put it on a flash drive and try and put it on my laptop that way but if that dont work i am at a loss.
 
Sounds to me like you have no chipset or other drivers installed. Please tell us the exact model of laptop
 
Check to see if you have any more cd's for the recovery process. The recovery should have reinstalled all your drivers. Looks like you are missing some. Lan, video, chipset, audio.

Click on the support tab up top and then downloads at the bottom for all the drivers.

Look in device manager to see how many entries need drivers and let us know so we can tell you what drivers you need.
 
i am going to look now i think there might have been one more disc but i am not sure. i cant download anything to my laptop though i cant get on the internet so i dont know how i am going to be able to get it working. any ideas mate?
 
If you don't have another cd with drivers on it then you will need to download them from another pc and transfer using a usb flash drive.
