Trouble With Ram

I just bought another stick of ram ( corsair 512 ddr2 533 pc4200). When i install it my computer does not boot up. What could be the problem?

all the ram is the same 533, pc 4200

To know what the problem is we need to know three things:

1) Make and model of the mobo

2) How many sticks of RAM do you have?

3) Double sided or single sided?

reseat the sticks. both of them.
does it beep at you, if not do you have the motherboard speaker plugged in? lol

ok, well i bought this computer from Alienware and since i have bought it i have pretty much upgraded everything excpet the mobo.

thats the computer i bought, im am not sure that the mobo so if you could help me with that.

I have 3 sticks of ram in it that work, 2 256, and 1 512.

I got it to boot up without beeping, but when i try to logon to windows it just crashes.

That doesn't tell me much unfortunately. Try booting the computer solely with the stick of RAM you just bought. Take out the other three. See if it boots.
