Trouble with video card

Okay I just installed my GF 6200 AGP and everythings working fine except for my steam games... When I open up HL2 I can hear the music and see the picture of the guy with the valve sticking out of his face and after that my computer just restarts. This happend three times in a row. What could be the problem? CAn compatibility be my problem? My motherboard supports 2x/4x agp but this card is 4x/8x. Was I supposed to disable any virus protects bfore installing my driver?

What graphics card did you have before? It might restart because of the slow graphics card, but it seems that steam would just crash.

Try some other drivers and other versions of DirectX. And no, you typically don't need to disable antivirus's...

My last card was crapper than the one I have right now. I used have an ATI Radeon 7500

True. Try what The Other One said. Did it run on your 7500?
