Vista will make your iPod Crash?
Vista won't let you play or use anymusic that isn't bought from a known Windows store?
Vista is Good?
Vista's to unstable?

I was looking at some laptops in a Certain store in Canada(not going to mention a name.... but it is "Future"-istic.... But anyways, the sales man, was telling me that my iPod will crash, and we cant use any music that isnt legally bought on it, and its very unstable.... Im not very knowledgable when it comes to Vista, so i thought i would ask you guys.

I woild have to let someone with the #1 IPod answer the questtion on that. I have mp3s that play just as well on Vista as in XP to answer the second question.

3) The answer there is comparing the initial release of XP without SP1 or SP2. Right from the start there have been some updates coming out.

4) Vista seems very stable while not having support for older softwares like cd/dvd playback programs and many other deskop apps. You will need a newer version for many. Yet many older games go right on and run.

So far the lack of available updated drivers needed for installed hardware other then your typical video card are seriously lacking like with "any" new version of Windows when it first comes out. Other then that it seems to run as stable as XP. It still has an NT ocre running on an NTFS type partition.

Unlike XP however it won't install to a Fat16, 32 type partition while installing right onto a sata driver without a need for a driver floppy. It readily detects all drives and even locates drivers if needed for lcd monitors. Just don't try letting Vista search online for sound drivers so you don't see ones for the wrong model installed. :(

1. Don't have an iPod

2. No. It is just like xp

3. IMO yes. Very much. Has many things that I like and I can never go back!

4. NO

Vista offers some rather new features including the sidebar and welcome screen that automatically load when first finishing the installation. This also includes the "rather annoying at times" new security feature known as the user account control. That will prompt on literally "everything" like you would expect from a good 3rd party firewall.

All three can also be disabled easy enough. Gee you want to start a game? Prompt: allow, deny, end program type of screen comes up when going to start something already installed as well as installing a new program. But Prey, HL2, Fear, and even a 2002 Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix have seen success.

It is good, you can turn the user security off. iPods do work on it yes. Well it has on the 2 i have used.

I have used my iPod with iTunes under Vista and haven't had any problems (iPod Photo). No corruption at all. However, I did hear that music bought from the iTunes store wont work, unless you get the patch for it (from Apple's website).

ya, cuz i thought that it was ok, i mean they tested it for how long? and tons of betas were released. Thanks for the answers Guys.
