True quad core processing

i know intel quad cores cheapest line up is faster and cheaper than the most expensive amd quads, but my question is amd says its the first consumer processor thats true quad core???

The AMDs are a monolith quad core, all 4 cores one one die. Intels Quads are 2 dual cores put together.

Well AMD is partially correct, because the current Core 2 Duo's are basically two dual cores which communicate via the FSB, whereas "true" quad-cores such as the new ones from AMD are all interconnected, which allows for faster communication between cores.
 
Who cares if it is "true" or "fake" Quad Core ?

Just get the one that have better performance.........
 
but intels architecture will not stand more performance, where AMD's architecture has some elbow room to improve
 
AMD went to true dual core later Intel did too, AMD put the memory contoller on the processor Intel will do it later too, AMD dropped the FSB for Hypertransport and later Intel will too with CSI, AMD made a true quad core later Intel will too. If you want to know what Intel is doing in the next few years all you have to do is look at what AMD is doing now.

IMO if AMD cant come up with the goods then they should stop whining
 
I am not a fanboi I never really knew much about computers when I first started building them and I stuck with Intel because it was main stream or I should say was advertised alot.

Right now fanboi or not AMD is in trouble, they can claim that Intel has copied them but the fact is Intel CPUs are better performers and are (dont even try to refute) stomping even the best AMD CPUs with lower lvl models. There are no questions about it and with the new 45nm comming out Intel will just gain a bigger foot hold on the market. AMD needs to focus on making a CPU that is equal or better to Intel's and quickly or we will all be paying the price with our pocketbook!!!!!

AMD has a better architecture, but intels outperform it. AMD's architectures leaves a lot of room for growth and we should be seeing some good numbers coming from AMDs cpus, but for now i would go with intel.
 
im making my own processor stuff this melarky....

its gonna have 100 cores with 5000fsb so you can all buy yer intel's and amd's but mine will be better...

muhahahahahaha
