Trying to build my first comp...and don't know what I'm doing

Hello all. I'm a film student trying to build a computer that will enable me to edit feature length movies. I don't really know what I'm doing, but have several friends around to help me out. Do any of you have any suggestions as to what kind of parts I should be using? I have to be able to store, work with, and render large amounts of movie files, both in regular and HD formats. Any help you may have for me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
 
you need alot of ram i suggest you 3GB DDR3 you can put more but you will need x64 windows which you will find hard driver for it + you need program for x64 i think 3GB DRR3 is enough as i know render dont use lot of processor about 2.0GHz duo 2 core 4-6 mb cash is enough and i think about 1tr is enough to save as much as youu want of movies
 
and about video card about 512 DDR 2 or DDR 3 will be enough all that coast in bulgaria about 1000-1300$
 
budget is gonna be pretty much unlimited. i live off of loans that come in over several months and i am gonna spread the build out over the course of the next year or so
 
make sure you get a good quad core processor and at least 4gb of ram for the video processing , i guess you will need a blue ray drive as well
