Hello, everyone! I am working on putting together my first gaming PC!

I've been doing research and finally put together a cart for what seems (to me) to be a decent computer for gaming and performance-intensive applications. I was hoping that the kind and knowledgeable folks here at Tom's Hardware could lend me a hand in checking everything over and making sure that my components are compatible and that I haven't made any amateurish mistakes along the way. I'm really trying to get more into computer hardware and I'm hoping to use this as an opportunity to dive right in and see what happens.

Motherboard: MSI X99S Gaming 9 ACK LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=13-130-808)

In terms of CPU, do you think the above is good or is it not much of an upgrade from the "Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W Desktop Processor BX80648I75820K" (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117402)?

What do you think? Hopefully I put together a decent setup and haven't messed up any compatibilities between the components. If you can point anything out, or make any suggestions, I would really, really appreciate it! :)

You're most likely spending more than you need to. What resolutiona re you going to be playing at?

Also double check before your copy and paste, this isn't TomsHardware. :P

I'd swap the ram for the 3000mhz version. I'd also go with a better cooler like a nzxt kraken x61 or h110i/gt. Those chips get hot a standard air cooled unit just won't do. I'd think about what you want it for considering the price on a 5960x vs a 5930k or 5820k for example.

When reading Toms Hardware, did they mention any applications that require 32GB of RAM...I'm just wondering. I use my computer in my signature with no problem and just built this one for my son, and it handles everything thrown at it....
