hi guys
im trying to delete mozilla program files folder but i cant everytime i try and delete it it says "You need permission to delete this folder" i dont get im the administrator in windows and theres only one user ME any help?

Did you use the add/remove programs method in the control panel to uninstall Firefox and Thunderbird? You will first want to make sure that no portion of the particular program(Firefox or otherwise) is still running. That will readily hamper any attempts at manually removing the main folder. Look in the task manager to see if there are any Mozilla processes running and click on the end process button.

You can also try right clicking the folder and looking at the properties to see if the "hidden" or "read only" box has a check mark and the rest is darkened. There you can uncheck that and click apply for another try. If the uninstall left something intact you may have to reinstall it for a retry at using the uninstaller or add/remove to see it totally removed.

i managed to delete mozilla folder in program files in safe mode but when i install mozilla firefox i want it to completely install like as if i have never installed it beforeyou see what i mean? what other locations you think i could delete it from

The other main folder with it's sub folders is found in the DocumentsandSettings folder. This will depend on whether or not you are the adminstrator with one main account setup or have others. You find the profiles as well as bookmarks stored in the 'C:\DocumentsandSettings\user name or all users(multiple accounts there)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\".

You would have to use a two step process to see those removed if access is denied or manual efforts at deletion still fail. The first is to end any Mozilla processes running although not likely in the task manager>processes. The second is manually removing the registry keys for both Firefox and Thunderbird with a free registry cleaner found at http://www.majorgeeks.com/RegCleaner_d460.html

When installed there are no new registry values created. The installer places a shortcut on the desktop only. RegCleaner opens up to a main screen where you simply uncheck the items to be removed and click the remove button to see this done. Just be careful of what you delete or... !!!
