I found one of my old hard drives the other day and wanted to get some outlook e-mail pictures off of it. So I poped the old hd in my new computer set it as the slave. And went to get the old pics from the outlook icon from the slave drive, and all it will bring up is the e-mails from my master Hard Drive. How do I find the E-mails off of the Slave? Are they in a microsoft Folder in the system of the slave?

If anyone could help it would help a great a deal

Thanks soo much

Nope 100% clean mate but remember not to install sponsors when you download such programs otherwise you get those annoying toolbars. Not sure if Dekstop comes with one or not. Anyhow if you are still worried after downloading and want to check your computer (and in general) use: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/ free download detects tons of stuff and that is 100% clean :) [The program included in link is Spybot Search and Destory - this is if the link fails so you can search a mirror site in Google]

No worries if you still have problems just PM me or post in this thread (i'll keep checking this thread for the next week after that PM me if theres still a problem).

humm, I would wrather not download it right now.
Do you know where I might be able to find the files from the slave from outlook, On my old drive? it looks as if my current outlook on my master drive is taking over, So I guess I need to find where outlook stores all the e-mail flies on my slave

Look in C:\Program Files\Outlook Express or whatever.

Nope not there, Because it's looking on my master hd instead of my Slave for the outlook files. Where does Microsoft Hide the e-mail files?

They are not there... outlook does not store the files as .eml or anything recognizable... It is a compressed file I believe. I use a program called microsoft outlook backup to cave the emails as an exe, then thats allows you to extracte the exe into your new or current email box.

ok great, So where can I find this program? And then were do I search for the files I'm looking for?

For me it's: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{152F38D2-2B5D-4775-A7F0-6F3ABA86E3DE}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

just do a search in c:\documents and settings\<user> for dbx files

Check for *.pst and *.eml files and such

<Drive>:\Program Files\Outlook Express or <drive>:\documents and Settings\<user> (this is of course assuming yer using XP or something)

You can also try importing them although i dunno if that works well or not
