Trying to get a laptop to stay on the network..

So I just moved into my new apartment and have been fighting with the wireless internet in here for awhile now. I got mine working perfectly fine as well as one other roommate, but I can't get anything to work for my other roommate.

We have a Dlink DI-624 router and the laptop is a Asus G50. I've got the settings the same on both my laptop and his for the internet. I turned off the extender on the router.

I can get his to connect for 5 minutes at a time, then it goes to just local internet only. I tried transferring the settings from my laptop to his via usb, but that did no good.

Any ideas as to what to do to get this POS to connect for good?

I hate to selflessly bump, but I'm really at my wits end on this one.

It does work fine jacked straight into the router via ethernet cable though.
