I can't install the cd of microsoft office professional academic 2010. i had 2007 and uninstalled it but i keep getting this error saying to uninstall microsoft office 2010 beta or something. i never had 2010. just 2003 and 2007. i even tried the microsoft fix it but that didn't work either. i keep getting the same message. i am going to attach an image to show what it says. can someone help me please?

Did you maybe by any chance install some programs which require additional Microsoft Office 2010 components in order for them to work?
If yes,go to Add and Remove programs and from there uninstall EVERYTHING that has connection with Office 2010.Even if it's just a small component.
After that restart the computer and run the setup for the Microsoft Office Academic 2010 again and see if it works.
By the way I see you have Windows XP (hope it's not just skin on Windows 7 ^^ ).Can you tell us WHAT version of XP it is and also what service pack does it have?

OK, lets see whats installed here. I need you to post an uninstall list using hijackthis. First download and install the program
Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.
Open hijackthis,(you may need to click on the main menu button) click on open misc tools section, click on open uninstall manager, click on save list and save it. Then copy and paste that log back here.
