Trying to save HDD

have you ever used GDBNT? it will still get the files back... i deleted the partition on my harddrive.... with the MBR...

Stellar Phoenix does the same thing. Actually, I have a drive that has four logical drives on it.. In other words, it has been repartitioned and reformatted four times, and SP can read all four. It's pretty cool.

i did that in the XP Setup... just set the partition tables i wanted, formatted each one when i got into windows...

No, no. What I mean is that it read data that was written over four times. Supposedly wiped out. No part of XP is capable of doing that.

Does the cable have a small square where a pin hole should be or a pull tab? If it has a spot where one pin is blocked the cable has a one way fit. If the cable comes with a pull tab for unplugging it have that facing up as you plug into the drive. Follow the cable down to the board. The pull tab would face inward on the floppy connection socket there or you look for the missing pin.

(you bought that samsung crap? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16821103109 :D )

no i got a black one

and theres no blocked hole or tab just a white stripe on one side

well it can plug in two ways

and when the white stripe is towards the power the green light is always on but if i flip the connector the light isnt on

If the drive light stays on when powering up you simply reverse the cable. The only time the light should come on is during the post tests and when yuo go to access the drive through explorer or MyComputer. Some included with a board will have pull tabs that gives you a reference since many cables do not have the one hole blocked off. Newer Asus boards will come with those.

Partition Table Doctor works really well :) You'll need/want a separate stable machine to acces it though.

There's also the tried and true Active@Partition Recovery which i usually use first and then PTD as a guaranteed fallback

you bought that samsung crap?
Can you tell me the differences between the accessing methods for both of those floppy controllers?

well it can plug in two ways
Yes but only one way is right.

well right now i am working on drivers and i think i left the mobo drivers at teh business

and i cant connect to internet, shit

And what make and model board is that? Some updates you could download will even fit on a.... I better not say in case you don't have one installed.
