trying to use old case

I want to use an old computer case. So I bought new motherboard, CPU, etc. But only to find the front panel stuff on the case uses different connectors than modern motherboards. So, thinking of trying to get new front panel parts. How to order?

Or can I just get the little connectors and splice the wires to the
power LED and HDD LED, power switch, etc...? Any hints on getting the
connectors?

I think I can get by with only back USB and audio connections.

I realize that getting new case with new wiring and connectors can be fairly cheap, just doing this 'because'.

Personally I would opt for a new case as older cases aren't the best for keeping your system cool. Most of the older cases only have one to two fans to keep things cool which was alright for back then and by the time you mod the case to get better breathing you could have just purchased a new one.

The old mother board had a 1x8 configuration with a single connector.
The new mother board has pins in a 2x4 configuration. The wiring in new
cases comes with connectors some for single wires and some for two wires
at a time, so you can plug them in as needed.

After searching for new connectors and not finding them, I had an
epiphany... I decided to cut my connector in half and then splice the
wires as needed. But when I went to do it, I found the wires could be
easily removed from the connector and configured as needed.

See the attached picture. I cut the mechanical connector in half with a
bandsaw. I sacrificed the use of one wire - I can live without the LED
for hard drive. But I think I can have seven wires in the connectors
and electrical tape on that last wire to both insulate and perhaps to
hold in place (not pictured).
