trying to wirelessly network a printer

I currently have 3 computers on my home network..

1. P.C. wired directly to the router running XP home
2. P.C. wirelessly connected to router with the printer attached to it running XP home. printer is a 4100 series HP
3. Laptop wireless to router running on Windows Vista

I currently have not been able to get the 2 network connected p.c.'s to attach to the printer..Is there an issue with which computer the printer is attached to or doesn't it matter..Currently I can only get the Vista running laptop to see the printer in the list of available printers( it wont connect though) but I think because its Vista and the computer with the printer is XP, that there is a barrier between the operating systems..I'm beginning to get a bit frustrated..Can anyone help..Thank you. Printer Sharing with Vista

Hi,

Windows Vista does have a few networking issues with xp, especially with printer sharing. The most important thing is to make sure that any firewalls on your computer are configured to trust your network.

Make sure the printer is shared and has a share name within 16 charracters and no spaces and try again

Hope this helps.
