my laptop keeps asking me to activate windows, but i don't want to load the acer oem version with all that crapware.

after trying various flavors, including fedora, mint & opensuse, i think i'll settle with ubuntu. they're all nice, but they also suck in their own way. ubuntu does have more wikii

also, my gaming machine got a virus... :(
i guess it was bound to happen, but it was when i least expected it. lOl.
it is completely useless, so i'll have to nuke it.
 
I did the same thing to my laptop after it blew out the motherboard. The manufacturer loaded something on it so that the fans would run at near 100% all the time. I wiped of windows it and it runs so much smoother. A am constantly amazed at how fast an older system can be with Ubuntu. Defiantly made my laptop useful again.
