Tunneling

Hey guys, I just had a few questions about tunneling.

For a bit of context:

I wasn't allowed to have two spares in my senior year due to school policy, and ended up stuck in an entrepreneurship class that I really have no desire to be in.

Anyways I would like to know how to tunnel through the firewall the school server has set up, so I can go on facebook and what not. I'm doing the work regardless, it's just not enough material to keep me occupied.

I've tried proxy servers, I've tried ping, and using an https:// connection does not work with a site like facebook because of the constant loading of new pages.

I've heard about tunneling, but have never quite understood how it is done.
 
Its policy here and best interest not to talk about a web tunnel.
Also violates policy likely at school.

Can't help you in that respect, but there may be another way.

What cell phone do you have? You may be able to tether it and just use that.
