Turning trial verson of Win 7 to full version?

Installed Windows 7, with out proper key, so installation installed as a Trial (30 day) version.

I just went out and bought Windows 7 CD today.

Can I just insert new installation key into the trial version or do I have to reinstall newly purchased cd of windows 7?

where do I install the key?

go to the start menu, then at the botton type "system" with out the quotations of course. then it will open a windows and at the bottom it will say something like"windows is not activated" and there should be a spot to put in the key

Only if you selected the proper version, if you selected Ultimate but purchased Home, it will not work.
