TV and computer monitor

i never usually watch tv while i'm on the computer
and i wanted to upgrade my tv and monitor at the same time
what could i buy that i could use as a TV and Monitor
that would be a nice size to view across a room for watching
movies and late night tv shows that i could just use as
my monitor at the same time
is there something like this? easy to hook up?

yep.
most flatscreen TV's have a DVI or s-video type hookup.

over the summer when I was at my parents house, i would hook up my computer to the tv to watch movies that were on my computer.

Most newer video cards as well as the newer HD tvs even will see s-video as one means of using a tv screen as the display for the pc. You can also add a tv tuner card into a pc for applcation there as well as video capturing from s-video and analog composite sources like a vcr. The big task is simply getting the pc to detect the tv when used as a monitor.

You could always get a LCD TV or something. I know mine has VGA and HDMI (which can convert to DVI). I wouldn't suggest using other inputs, though, unless you only play to watch videos. RCA and SVHS are pretty low quality now-of-days. Component would be alright, but not as good as VGA or DVI.
