Mostly all new Graphics Card on the market today have a TV-Out port. Just need an S-Video Cable
Last time I attempted to do this was with my FX 5200... I plugged it up to the TV, and immediately this horrible smell came from the case...The TV flashed white, emitted a high frequency pitch, and turned off.
Turns out I fried the Graphics Card But that was no problem, took it back to the store, said that it just 'stopped working' and they gave me a refund. I then bought the FX 5700 LE with that money, with £10 to spare
Just remember to change the settings on your computer first JakeisDead, otherwise your heading the same direction as me...
It's pretty hard to fry something (the TV-set or the video card) only by settings. Once I accidentally swapped the two displays and my poor TV-set ended up with 1600 x 1200 resolution and 85 Hz refresh. Of course, the image was unreadable, but after switching back the settings, everything was ok.
But be careful about plugging in the cable on the computer and TV-set: be sure you make this only when both are turned off.
