TV into a Comp Monitor

Yes i am looking for information on how to create my desktop PC to be able to support my Desktop Monitor running World Of Warcraft (video game) and having my TV set up as a 2nd monitor to run internet explorer while im in game and all i would have to do is move my mouse off the screen onto the TV screen and would have access to that. Anyone know how to do this or know a site to use?

A typical TV(IE not LCD or plasma) runs at around 720x480 interlaced where as a computer monitor runs at obvious much higher resolutions and it is not interlaced. What's this mean? You won't be able to read squat on your TV if you plan to use it for surfing the internet. The other way around might work, if you drop the res quite low, most games work pretty well on the TV.

As for doing both while in the game, I don't beleive that is even possible. I don't do much with duel monitors but I thought when you went into a game, the other monitor usally followed, even if it just goes black.

When I'm not feeling lazy, I might try this with my card and see what happenes...

Ok because i have an LCD flat screen i want to use it on. I know i had an ex-roommate that had his set up that was like that all he had to do was move mouse over to the right side of screen onto the right monitor and he would have control of that monitor, i believe he had a program for this (which i found already) i was just wondering on how to do the setup on it to get this done.

Ah, ok that really helps if you have an LCD... From that point you should just have to connect a VGA/DVI connection to the LCD and set it as your 2nd display under display proporties. However, what is this about the software you found? When you have a setup like this, it basically just extends your desktop, which is why you drag your mouse over to the other monitor. I mean you can move the placement of the monitors if I remember correctly and have it where the 2nd monitor is "above" your primary one(or any other direction...)

When I used my TV as a second monitor I couldn't play a game and then switch to Firefox on my TV, I could read stuff on the TV but as soon as I clicked on Firefox the game got minimized.

my friend has a dell laptop... we interlaced his laptop screen with a monitor from another computer... and with that setup we could have a game on one screen and a browser on the other... it lagged alot. but it worked

xp supports dual monitors. All you need is a combination of two video devices. I've done it with onboard video and a PCI card, or a dual output video card.

Most games will default to a single monitor anyhow, so you wont be able to use the 2nd monitor.

after using dual monitors, I cannot go back, it's just too convenient.
