tv signal doesnt show

Have you gone through the input settings to see if composite is enabled? The green screen is common when first setting up any type of tv tuner or video capture device. There should be a drop down menu or other list of choices for the input. NTSC is also another setting needed for tv input.
 
Too bad dude, u should of gotten a brand name card. When I was looking for an TV card I did a lot of research and found out that brand really matters. So I spend 39$ and bought an ASUS one and didn't have a problem with it yet.

Well, if you aren't going to help, DON'T POST.

As for no video, it could be several things. Have you made sure you have the cable securely tightened? Have you made sure that composite is enabled?
 
The first step is to go to the menu to start up the main interface seen on the desktop and look for the configuration icon or button in order to look for the options there. IIf you had a good install you can try the options while one input source is in use until you get something onscreen. The other thought here would be to look in the device manager for any yellow marked items in the event a needed driver didn't go on during the first try. You would simply right click on that item to choose the update driver option and browse the installation disk for the drivers folder. Windows should then copy what is needed from there. Since it is both USB 2.0 and 1.1 compliant the only other cause would be a factory defect.
 
ok update: i used device manager to update to usb 2.0 (which is the reason i couldnt see video) throughout the process it was asking for this and that file and about copying another file....... then its done and i can see video ...... but.... when i restart my pc (or shut down and turn back on) i get the blue screen of death everyone has probably run into at one point or another..... i restore and do it all over again just to confirm, and it is when i install usb 2.0 (just to double check it wasnt something else i installed) am i out of luck or is there something i can do? this blows btw :(
 
If you have Service Pack 2 on for XP usb 2.0 shouldn't need an update. Some years back I ran into some fun with an ADS usb video capture device that also failed to see results. Then came the pci slot capture card that worked like a charm! But what you are seeing there sounds like a bad install of the capture software/drivers.

First boot in safe mode and remove all traces of the software package and see if you get the system back to normal. Do you have a Windows installation disk onhand? The system file checker will usually repair any basic system files that get messed up. You simply type "sfc /scannow" at the Run prompt and let it run for several minutes at times. A good cleanup of the system registry and lookover of your other programs may help find the cause there.
 
actually i dont have xp's service pack... i have the file but dont know how to install it.

screw it.... im returning this piece of crap and pay the 15% restocking fee and get a pci tuner card :(

XP's SP2 is about 266mb in size if you downloaded and saved it to a folder. That would be the redistributable version there. If you find out that's not what it is you can download SP2 directly from http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/Windows-XP-SP2-RTM.shtml You simply double click on it to see the self contained installer put it on right away. Make sure you disable any antivirus, adware, spyware type programs as well as any firewalls. That will prevent a bad install from that type of interference.
