I got an Powercolor ATI 550 Pro - and want to install it onto my MOBO. Unfortunately - the PCIex1 is right in front of the MOBO heat sheid - and I can't get the card to reach the slot - b/c the heat shield is taller than the clearanc eof hte male slot.

I probably could fit it in the PCIx4 slot - but I'm not sure if that's recommended? I can't quite figure out why you would build a MOBO with PCIex1 slot that you can't use either:confused:

what should I do? Do I have to send the card back - and get a PCI video card of sorts?

Edit - I'm probably screwed on this one - since I just noticed this is post 666:D

Thanks

Cool, thanks

I'm trying to set it up right now -

I plugged it into the PCIex4.

When I started my PC - the fan started and then turned off - and went back on. It used to just go back on. I also never got the hardware detected icon. I installed the driver and am working on setting up the media center. Hopefully there's not a harware problem I'll learn about.

ALL IS GOOD. I got a signal reading on my monitor. It's on my crappy old Dell 15" monitor - but I have to say for a 25.00 Tuner card - the pic is very good. Can't wait to get my system set up where I can see how it looks on my High Def monitor.
