tv tuner help

i just got my KWORLD PlusTV Analog Lite PCI TV Tuner Capture Card w/ Remote PVR-TV 7134SE PCI Interface i read the reviews and it said it works in linux and i did everything it said in the write ups but still nothing it recognizes the card in mythtv but it dose not identify a cable input and i tried in it tvtime and it recognizes the card but it says no signal
 
im starting to think this was a waist of money cz i see that its ben done before and ive seen the right ups yet it still just dont work
 
Hey man, srryi cant really help out, but i would just like to say that these tv tuners are hit and miss on these computer set ups, i spent 100 on a Happauge! one and it wont even work for the digital, so i had to jerry-rig it, it works but it laggs when i change the channel, but i would never buy a tv tuner again..:(

Is it possible that you are running a digital signal to an analog card. That would explain not being able to pick up a signal.

I used to run a split signal through my DVD player - and Cable box - but realized my analog DVD tuner no longer works. Comcast got rid of all their Analog service. You can still get an analog signal - but you need a cable box or tuner to convert the digital picture to analog. You can then watch it on channel 3 via TV tuner card.

Works for my needs - b/c I use the cable box as my tuner anyway. But if I didn't have the cable box - I'd need a digital TV tuner card to pick up a signal.

i have comcast and that was the problem i now have a box i just need to get it to work my mom said its turned on but it dosent act like its getting service to it lol so i gotta fidle with that today and thanks for the help
