I was wondering if the above product will allow me to hook my VCR to it and capture the video on the tape and burn it onto a dvd.

Yes it will, but you'll need to use the Coaxial Cable. If you want Composite you will need a different TV tuner. I would try to find a tuner that tells you the max resolution that it can record.

Why would you burn it on tape? Just burn it to your pc first and from there u can make a dvd.
