I Need help about my hard drives. First I did removed my Ubuntu in window Xp on Drive C:to gain more space Ubuntu is not working properly, then I had another operating System Fedora 10 installed in other hard drive D: which I did delete the partition to gain more space which i'm not satisfied OS works so I need to use only Window xp as my primary and only OS. All the actions that I did is under my computer/disk management. Then I rt clicked the Drive D: and clicked extended partition. Then I look at my computer and lost Drive D:, I cannot reformat the drive D: because there's no option. How can I recover my drive D: any idea?

well, You can try partition magic to restore the partition then use a undelete program to search for your files.... Or in XP, Right click my computer and click manage, Look in disk management and see if there is a option to recreate the partition, Then go and undelete your files... I think the OS is gone tho, No way to restore the hole partition that I know of.

Use a boot disc to boot the system and format the drives. This assumes you don't care about the data that is on the drives.

Can you see the D: partition in Windows Explorer?
Right Click Start, Explore.

I did solved my problem by using my computer/disk management and can see the second hd which rt click pick logical drive then format it. Thanks for all of you responding. Oh before that when I did delete both ubuntu(within window xp environment) and fedora 10(second hd but grub bootloader is within window xp) without going for mbfix I can't even reboot to window XP so I did installed the Ubuntu even I don't use I had no alternative thou .Any idea going first to mbrfix first before uninstalling the Ubuntu? how do you fix the grub bootloader within the window XP?
