Two lines on monitor

My EM 170 TFT monitor has developed two white lines at the bottom of the screen.The first one, 1mm thick appeared some two months ago, and the second, hair line size, only appeared last week.
What causes them and how can I remove them?

I have two small screens on my monitor one twords the top and one twords the bottom.

I just assumed it was something with the monitor, because I got this one used and it has been like that.

Some sony monitors (i think they're called trinitron or something) have two little dark lines running horizontally across the screen to support the screen's matrix.

seeing as yours are appearing from nowhere i would suggest you try a different monitor, check the cables to the monitor and finally try a different graphics card.

If not, try degaussing the monitor.

er... you cant degauss a TFT or LCD screens..
degaussing a monitor means getting rid of the charge on the metal "tube" of a CRT monitor.

heehee, just noticed it was a tft.... you might be losing areas of the circuitry that controls the screen

I bought it in December 04, and it has a 3yr warranty, and I think I can probably get it fixed.But that would mean spending some time without a PC.
